I thought I had to give the manufacturer a set number of attempts to make repairs before I could make a claim, what is that number?
The law does not stipulate a specific number of repair attempts, but does require a “reasonable number” of repair attempts. The legal definition of “reasonable number” will vary depending on the vehicles particular problem or problems. In most cases, if the repair of a specific problem has been attempted at least four separate times at the manufacturers authorized repair facility, or has been kept more than thirty (30) days in the repair facility, this establishes a “reasonable number.”
