According to a recent report published by the Council of Graduate Schools, more international students are enrolling in graduate schools for business despite the poor economic climate.
This year saw a six percent total increase of international students attending graduate school MBA programs, compared to no growth in 2010. Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management had a 12 percent jump in foreign student enrollment from the previous school year alone. 2011 saw the greatest increase in immigrant students traveling abroad for graduate school since 2007.
Most students come from Taiwan, China, and Vietnam in order to return home with the intention of getting a leg up on their careers at multinational companies.
