What Is A Notice Of Discharge?
Once the expiration date has passed on the deadline for creditors filing complaints, a notice of discharge or “Discharge of Debtor” is sent to the debtor by the court. This generally occurs one to two weeks after the expiration date. The notice states that the debtor has been discharged of all dischargeable debts. The debtor can only be discharged of debts where there have been no objections filed by creditors or trustees.
